location portrait photography

I create all my portrait photographs on a agreed location like the beach, the countryside, a specific building or your home. This enables me to produce more interesting, unique and spontanious portraits of you and your compagny in the style you prefer.

The photography shoot is designed to last one hour and I can assure you: time flies while having fun, making different photographs without the limitations of a studio. Assignments for a whole shift are also possible. I make portraits everywhere in The Netherlands and Belgium.

my offer

I will sent you a cd containing low resolution versions of the photographs for you to keep. From the cd you can select the photograph that you want to order on canvas or photograph print, depending on the portrait photography package you have purchased. One canvas print or photographic print is included in the sitting price.

When you want to order more prints after viewing the cd, you can. I will charge you an extra fee for that. You can ask me full details and prices about extra prints, canvases and a coffee table book or contact me for guidance. A fee estimate and my terms & conditions are available to clients. I will always provide you with a license to use images in an agreed manner.

photo journalism /

commercial use

When a paper, magazine or website has standard prices for photo journalists, I usually follow its guidelines. If you don't have them, you can contact me so we can set a price. I will always provide you with a license to use images in an agreed manner.

my offer

When you don't work with photo journalists that much or when you want a photo for commercial use, I have my own prices. I quote fees based on specific use including: size, placement, circulation, distribution (local, national, international), length of display time, uniqueness of the image and cost of production. To start with: news photography is cheaper than work for anual reports or advertisements.

Some other examples: For web pages I count among others the image size, the compagny size and the use and placing of the image. For magazines I also make a difference between foreign publications and publication in The Netherlands. Reprints are cheaper. When I sell you a photo for an anual report the time you will use it, will be counted.

Are you looking for a specific picture and you don't want to give someone a special assignment? I have an image bank with over 4000 pictures and contacts with other photographers. What's your item? It could be very well covered by my image bank. Just contact me and find out.

Please note that my images are of the highest quality, geared to the professional photo buyer.

None of the photos in my image bank appear in any clip art collection. I can tell you where the images have appeared, if there are similars, and if they are released (what makes them even cheaper for you). I will always provide you with a license to use images in an agreed manner.

artistic photography

It is me who will decide the size of an artwork and the material it is printed on. There will be two prints of each artwork, no more. I will sign and number the photos.

'stained glass' on adhesive plastic

Do you own a beautiful old building with high ceilings plastered with ornaments? Do you love the original windows in it, but do you think it's too cold at your place? Here is the solution!

Old houses are great, but need to be restaurated once in a while. Leaded windows often don't survive the make over, because the pane has to be renewed or double glass is wanted. A pitty? Maybe not. I offer you 'leaded windows with stained glass' that might fit better to your modern furniture.

I make photograpy that makes you think of leaded windows. Executed on transparancy vinyl or even lambda druratrans dia, these original images make an atmospheric addition to your house. They influence the light through your windows in a way that makes you feel even warmer than double glass can do. Except when you choose for cold colours of course.

To me, well-selected finishing techniques are often as important as the actual photo. The chosen finishing represents often a signaficant part of my artwork. Therefore I offer photography that is supervised by me during the whole process from start to finish.

To give my artwork or your portraits a look that makes them even more special I work together with superior photo labs. I visit the labs myself during the process to be sure of the best results.

Het Beeldgebouw in Rotterdam is one of the biggest labs in The Netherlands. I go there for almost all my professional prints. I mostly prefer lambda prints, museum quality prints that last for more then hundred years. Lambda is the new standard for digital large-format reflective or backlit displays directly from file.You'll get whites that are truly white and blacks that are absolutely black. Colours are unbelievably saturated and true to the original shot including flesh-tones and bright colours.

For other museum quality prints, cibachrome, I work together with the Amsterdam company [S]color Creative/XL, market leader in photography, big size printing and digital silk screen printing. It's said that the museum quality cibachrome prints last even for over fivehundred years. Cibachrome offers a colour saturation that high, blacks so deep and whites so brilliant, that the results almost seem too perfect. Count to that a tone reproduction with optimum gradation from the brightest highlights to the deepest shadows and you know this is an artists dream.
